How to source bicycles by wheel size

Wheel size is the fastest way to narrow a catalogue, but geometry, adjustability, components and local safety requirements still matter.

Start with the sales range

Choose the wheel sizes needed for your channel and compare every source model available in that size.

Compare configuration

Review frame, fork, braking, rim and finish before selecting appearance or accessories.

Validate the final product

Treat catalogue age bands as source data, not a universal fit guarantee. Confirm dimensions and destination requirements on the approved sample.

Beyond wheel diameter

Wheel size is the first catalogue filter, not the complete buying decision. The same size can contain substantially different forks, brakes, rims and finishes.

Compare like with like

At 18 inches, compare SY-2601, SY-26107 and SY-2624: all have steel frames and alloy rims, while their brakes and forks differ. This isolates meaningful configuration choices. Do not describe the whole bicycle as aluminium simply because its rim is alloy, or assume all products of one size use the same brake.

Build the size matrix

A model’s catalogue sizes define where it can be selected. SY-2601 spans 12–20 inches; SY-2624 spans 18–24 inches. To build a multi-size order, list model, size, colour and quantity on separate lines. Sharing a model name does not combine the minimum order across all sizes.

Use the sample for fit

Catalogue age ranges are not individual fitting advice. Wheel diameter alone leaves out frame geometry and rider requirements. Review the selected configuration and sample dimensions for the intended product before settling the range; avoid turning a wheel-size chart into a universal age recommendation.

Choose a catalogue size

Wheel size is a sourcing filter, not a rider-fit guarantee. Compare frame geometry and intended use with the sample; do not assign a child’s age from wheel size alone.
